Chainalysis says attackers used AI agent techniques to breach its systems
Chainalysis said Oct. 30 that an outside actor used “offensive agentic techniques” to gain unauthorized access to its systems and internal tools, and cited an “industry-wide rise in AI-driven cyberattacks.” The company said the exposed data was non-sensitive customer information (user IDs, full names, email addresses and organizational role labels) and that it found no indication of unauthorized access to investigation content, passwords, authentication credentials, multi-factor authentication secrets or session tokens. Chainalysis said it notified affected customers without saying how many; BleepingComputer reported the company said the incident is unrelated to the recent Binance theft.
